As a rule, older vehicles with non-electric ignitions should be tuned every 5,000 to 10,000 kms or once a year. Newer cars, with electronic ignition and fuel injection systems can go as long as 20,000 to 50,000 kms without needing a tune-up. We can check if your vehicle is operating at peak efficiency. If you experience any of the following, your electronic ignition system may need to be tuned or adjusted:
If your car stalls a lot you may have a dirty throttle body which needs cleaning, or perhaps a sensor out of range. Other possible causes include a vacuum leak or even a faulty inlet manifold gasket. There are many causes, but proper diagnosis is essential. Our up-to-date scan tool equipment allows us to diagnose, with absolute certainty, the cause of the problem saving you time and money.
This problem could be something like a weak battery or weak fuel pump. It could also be due to a faulty electronic component such as the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) or worn ignition components. Our electronic tune-up will quickly identify the source of the problem so you can get back on the road as soon as possible.
If you do a lot of stop-and-go driving, this puts extra wear and tear on your electronic ignition system and it may require a more regular tune-up.
Towing or pulling heavy loads (like a caravan or boat) will put extra pressure on the electronic ignition system so it is wise to have a regular electronic tune-up.
